Like many other reviewers, I was surprised that it holds the 1400ml it says it does. It just simply looks too small. Yes, the glass is thin, bus is comfortable to use, without adding too much weight. This fits nicely in the door of my refrigerator, and looks nice on my kitchen counter where it spends most of the day as I empty it. This is a beautiful carafe with a brilliant lid. I recently added a filtered water tap to my kitchen sink, and wanted to keep some of the filtered water cold, and stored in glass instead of plastic, so I bought this carafe. It has about the same footprint as a gallon of milk and easily fits inside the door. ----By Chris

I have two of these. This one is the smaller of the two. I use it to keep cold water in the fridge. Very easy pour. Classy looking on any table. One of the few that I have found that you can put boiling water in to make tea.The narrow neck is great for easing out the teabags and getting more water out of the teabag. I would definitely recommend this product and have had several compliments on it. Would be great as a gift! ----By Penny
